John Shumaker lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Carol. Between them, they have five children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. John has worked with the Colorado Springs Fire Department for the past 37 years and with the fire department, he started chapters of Firefighters for Christ, The Fellowship of Christian Firefighters, and also started a Chaplain program. John served as the Fire Department Chaplain for 20 years. He has taught couples Bible Studies since 1985 and adult Sunday School classes since the early 1990’s. He studied through the Berean Bible School and was a credential minister with the Assemblies of God. Through Firefighters for Christ, John was responsible for producing and sending out over 65,000 Christian teaching cassettes world-wide.
