As a parent of adopted twin boys, this is the best book about the personal journey of "choosing this day. A MUST read for all

Leon Mentzer, author

the Melissa (adoptee) from Kansas says:

"I received your book today from my mother-in-law and read it in 3 hours. You made my day reading your story. Thanks for the inspirations! You see 2 weeks ago I wrote to my birth mother and she wrote back the next day. We spoke on the phone for the first time last week and I haven't come down from the clouds since.  My story is very similar to yours. Not long ago I had health reasons to seek out my birth family and with the help of close friends and a loving husband I did.  It's amazing how easy it was with the help of the computer. I also started going back to church and bible study just a month ago and I can't believe how much as happened since then. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this email and respond. God works through wonderful ways!! Thanks again for taking the time to care about me and my life."

Deb (birth mom) from Connecticut says:

Subject: Reunited and it feels so good!

"Thank you so much for sharing your story, Sharon. It has just been published and God is already using it to change lives. God bless! So much has happened since I read your book last Thursday night, I'm overwhelmed. What a wonderful book. (Thank you God for turning her darkness into light, her mourning into dancing, her sorrow into joy.) Your book definitely moved me to forgive and ask for forgiveness of the bdad which brought about this reunion."

Tiffany (adoptive mom) from Missouri says:
"I wanted to let you know that I ordered your book from Amazon and read it last night.  What a beautiful story! I am going to ask my mother-in-law to read it as well. I look so forward to meeting you, even more so after reading your book. I read that it was written for women facing an unplanned pregnancy or that have in the past, but I would suggest that every adoptive parent read it as well."

An Adoptive Mom's Perspecitve, August 13, 2007
By  T. Washburn (Midwest)

As a Mom of a daughter that we adopted at birth, I was interested in the author's feelings and memories from the point of choosing adoption until reuniting with her daughter. This book depicts a beautiful story that is refreshing in light of all the negetive adoption reunion stories that we hear in the media. I know that this book was written for birth moms and the author expresses her feelings about being a birth mom extremley well. That being the case, I still feel that this would be a wonderful book for adoptive parents and their extended families to read, as it gives you a glimpse into the emotions and feelings of birth moms and is a good way to begin thinking how you, as an adoptive parent, will handle the experience when your child wants to find their biological parents. It is a quick read and a heart warming one at that!

A Positive Light on Adoption, May 12, 2007

This was a very positive, spiritual look on adoption from a birthmother's point of view. It was a very easy, fast read. I enjoyed it. The only reason for the four stars and not five is, I wish the author would have written a little bit more about the feelings of loss & mourning... just a bit deeper. It is a huge part of adoption. Otherwise, it was a VERY positive look on the situation.

A must read for anyone in the adoption triad

A reviewer, A reviewer, 11/22/2006

I have known Sharon for over 3 years now and have heard her story told many times. I am so happy that she finally put her words and thoughts on paper as I know her story will help many in their adoption quest. This is a must read for anyone in the adoption triad.

 Couldn't put it down!

Cindy Farmer, lover of books, 11/13/2006

This is such an inspirational and uplifting book. I brought it home and laid it down to read later that evening. When I went to read it my husband was reading it and wouldn't give it to me. This is amazing because after over 38 yrs. of marriage he has never read a book, maybe a few lines if I asked him, but he wouldn't put this book down until he had finished it and then I had a chance to read it. I love the way Sharon told her story and how she equated herself with the 'turtle'. She is a masterful story teller and I read it from cover to cover in one sitting, couldn't put it down, as did my husband. We would recommend this to anyone who loves a good story and a happy ending.

A book you can't put down!

A reviewer, A reviewer, 11/11/2006

Even though I know Ms. Fieker's story first-hand, I could not put this book down. In fact, I could not set myself down. Without realizing it for some time, I found myself reading the book while I was standing. This is not just a story about adoption and reunion, it's about faith, hope, and love and how God truly blesses those who put their trust in Him.

 What an inspiration!!!!!!

I too could not put this book down. As an adoptive mother, it was so moving to hear Sharon's story as a birthmother. It is a 'must read' for anyone considering placing their child for adoption and for adoptive parents.

As a lifelong friend, it is overwhelming to read I Choose This Day and realize the years of silence the author experienced. However, in God's timing her gift of writing and speaking have blossomed. You can't put the book down. What a wonderful example of the miracles of adoption.
