SC Author Shares How Family Coped with Unemployment
ROCK HILL, S.C. Layoffs, sky-high unemployment rates, bankruptcy: the nation’s economy has seen tough times recently.
Having lived through 17 months of unemployment, South Carolina author Cindy L. Allen and her family know tough times all too well. At this point in the journey, Allen is equipped with the experience and the faith that led her to write her new book, I Thought I Heard the Lion Roar.
By learning to tune into God's voice and hear it above all of life’s lions, Allen offers her story of surviving the turmoil of downsizing, displacement, and disillusionment. In a world filled with change, she and her husband, Jim, reveal the importance of listening to God's voice and turning away from the deafening roar of lies present in a constantly evolving world.
In her introduction, Allen writes, We have all experienced defeat, tragedy, loss, guilt, sickness, surprises, success, joy; the list goes on and on. So kick back, lay aside your preconceived notions about how we can or cannot hear the voice of God, and travel with me on a journey that will hopefully give you some concrete steps to recognizing the still, small voice of the Lord.
